With all the buzzwords in anti-aging treatments, things can get a bit overwhelming! If you are like most people, it is easy to get these terms mixed up.  One thing we hear all the time is when people confuse "Botox" and "Juvederm." They are both great products made by the company Allergan, but they are used in two very different different ways.

Botox is a liquid injected into a muscle to reduce the movement of the muscles that contribute to wrinkles.  The most common places to use Botox are between the brows, across the forehead, and around the eyes.  It takes up to 2 weeks to see the full effect of Botox and it is repeated every 3 to 4 months.

Juvederm, a type of filler, is a gel injected under the skin to add volume.  The most common places to use a dermal filler like Juvederm are smile lines, cheeks, and lips.  The effect of a dermal filler can be seen immediately and the treatment is repeated every 6 to 18 months depending on the type of filler and where it is used.

Most people prefer to get both Botox and Juvederm because the combination allows us to provide full facial rejuvenation.

If you would like to know if Botox or Juvederm is right for you, please schedule a consultation with one of our expert injectors.
