The coldest and driest weather of the year is upon us. A combination of lower temperatures and less precipitation means the humidity decreases dramatically and with it, the moisture and comfort of our skin. Our skin becomes dry, flaky, and often itchy, particularly if you have issues with skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. Everyday occurrences can accidentally make the drying of our skin worse, such as long, hot showers or spending a lot of time indoors with heaters running. To keep our skin looking its best even during the cold, dry winter, we recommend these three steps.
Use moisturizer twice per day on clean skin. Moisturizers come in a wide variety of combinations, but those that contain lactic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, urea, ceramides, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or a combination of these ingredients will provide the most benefit.
Avoid tight-fitting clothes that cause friction on the skin. Constant friction can remove the natural oil barrier on your skin and make it less capable of repairing itself from loss of moisture. The result is more discomfort and a drier appearance to the skin.
Be extra mindful of how sensitive the skin on the face can be. It is thinner, always exposed and more prone to damage from harsh conditions. To help keep the skin on your face hydrated and looking youthful, we offer the Hydrafacial MD.
Hydrafacial MD provides instant and long-term improvements to the skin as well as all the benefits of our traditional facial service. There is also an option to add a Booster Serum, LED therapy, or both to your Hydrafacial treatment to further enhance your results.
