Vascular Laser

Now men and women alike are making unsightly facial and leg veins a thing of the past, thanks to the Cutera Coolglide Nd:YAG Vascular Laser. With the most advanced technology, a unique design, and a longer laser wavelength, the Cutera Laser can safely and effectively treat both tiny superficial facial veins and deeper blue leg veins on men and women of all skintones.

The Cutera Coolglide Vascular Laser combines the ideal laser wavelength (1064nm) with the most flexible settings to deliver vascular laser treatment. It effectively treats a broad range of blood vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly, safely, and effectively.* Patients with dark, light, or tanned skin can all experience outstanding results.* The Cutera Coolglide Laser delivers pulses of light energy, which cause the blood inside the vein to heat up, destroying the vessel. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.

The Cutera Coolglide Laser can remove unsightly veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or “telangiectasia”) can be treated quickly with minimal risk of bruising or complication. Spider veins and dark blue reticular leg veins can also be treated with excellent results.* Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates for this treatment. A careful evaluation will help determine which vessels can be treated and the best course of treatment.

* Your Results May Vary

We will advise you on the best course of action for your situation, but we often prefer Cutera Laser Vein Therapy because there are no painful injections, no compression stockings, and no downtime. Blood blisters or “hemangiomas” respond very well to Cutera Coolglide Laser Treatment, usually with just one session. Patients with port wine stains and other vascular lesions who had given up on finding a solution have been overwhelmed by the success of their Cutera Coolglide Laser vascular treatments.

Patients often find that one or two treatments are sufficient. However, the number of treatments necessary depends on the number, color, and size of the vessels being treated. Most patients experience a quick snapping sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece, rarely requiring any numbing cream. Once the treatment is complete, there is minimal to no discomfort.

Following your treatment, some redness and/or bruising may occur. When larger veins are treated, a bruised or brownish pigment may remain for a few weeks or months following treatment. Your results may vary.

Although many patients report few if any side effects, those most commonly noticed are slight redness and swelling of the skin. These effects typically last for less than 24 hours. Some patients may experience bruising and, in rare instances, blistering may occur. Please schedule a consultation for complete information about the benefits and risks of this treatment.

Patients generally resume most normal activities immediately after the treatment. However, it is recommended that you avoid rigorous activities such as strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun.

Most patients find that the majority of the treated veins disappear with the remainder showing significant improvement within two to six weeks of treatment. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months.

The results from the veins that have been successfully treated are permanent. However, over time, it is possible for your body to create new veins. Any new veins can also be removed with the Cutera Coolglide Laser.

A careful evaluation by one of our medical providers will help determine the best course of treatment for you and your concerns.
