Massage Services

So many of us spend our workday sitting hunched over in front of a computer screen, standing in uncomfortable shoes on hard floors, or doing hard physical labor. By the end of the day, we are tired, stiff, and sore. We experience tight shoulders, stiff necks, and lower back pain. Stretching and exercise can help, but sometimes moving the wrong way or lifting something heavy can bring on even more discomfort.  Massage therapy may be the answer you are looking for.

Pregnancy can cause discomfort, including back pain and headaches from the physical changes our bodies experience. Although athlete’s bodies are typically in good shape, sometimes the over-use of muscles in endurance sports and strains to tendons and ligaments can also cause pain and stiffness throughout the body.

The licensed massage therapist at Orlando Skin Solutions can help with muscle tightness, stiffness, and soreness for everyone. Whether you are stiff from work, uncomfortable due to pregnancy, or an athlete with a sports injury, we can help relieve your muscles tension, improve your flexibility, and help your body and mind relax for overall well-being.

Swedish

Swedish Massage is the most common type of massage therapy.  The techniques used in Swedish are gentle long, kneading strokes, and light, rhythmic, tapping strokes in combination with movements of the joints. These movements relieve tension in your muscles, helping you to relax and improve flexibility while reducing pain.  Swedish can be both relaxing and energizing. The techniques used in Swedish massage relax your body and calm your mind to help improve your overall physical and emotional well-being.

Express

An Express Massage is a shortened version of Swedish for those on the go who need a quick relaxation session.  Similar to a chair massage, you remain fully dressed so we can have you in and out within 30 minutes. This is also a great treatment to add on if you will already be in the office for another service and want some additional relaxation time.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue Massage is a more intense form of therapy that focuses on realigning the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. This form of therapy is not for people new to massage. It is beneficial for chronically tense and contracted muscles that can cause stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. For deep tissue, the techniques used to reach down to release tension in the muscles that are the farthest away from the surface. The movements are slower and more intense pressure is applied to concentrated areas of tension and pain.

Hot Stone

Hot Stone Massage is similar to Swedish with the addition of heated stones, which results in deep relaxation.  The penetrating heat of the stones allows the treatment to be delivered without excessive pressure. Hot Stone Massage is used to help you relax and ease tense muscles throughout your body.  This treatment is ideal for those with fibromyalgia or arthritis.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the ancient art of foot massage, which originated in China and was also performed by the Ancient Egyptians.  It is believed that energy runs through the body in channels known as meridians and that manipulation of the feet stimulates these energy channels, promoting healing and relaxation.  Every part of the foot corresponds to an area of the body, and reflexology of the feet stimulates the corresponding part of the body so it is the equivalent of a full-body massage.  The soothing effects of reflexology generally leave you feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful.

Trigger Point

Trigger points are sore, painful spots that occur in a muscle.  Most people refer to trigger points as “knots” in their muscles.  They are called trigger points because they “trigger” a painful response.  Trigger Point Massage uses pressure on each trigger point to reduce muscle pain and spasms.  This treatment is ideal for those who can only tolerate minimal massage therapy.
